Boaz, Ala. — A 30-year-old man was accidentally shot dead while playing a game of quick-draw with several people at an automotive shop last Thursday. The gun, a .40-caliber Glock, was thought to be unloaded.

Midland City, Ala. — Yesterday, a 65-year-old man fatally shot a 66-year-old school bus driver before taking a 6-year-old boy from the bus as a hostage and retreating to an underground bunker on his property. Police have been negotiating with the man for about 24 hours by talking through a pipe that goes into the bunker.

Autaugaville, Ala. — A man was killed in a hunting accident Monday evening. His body was found by members of his hunting party after an afternoon of hunting. It appears the man’s firearm accidentally discharged due to some sort of issue with his tree stand.

Chicago, Ill. — A 15-year-old girl was fatally shot and a 16-year-old boy was wounded about 2:20 p.m. yesterday while hanging out with friends at a park shortly after completing their high-school exams. Police say 10 to 12 teens were under a canopy during a rainstorm when a male opened fire as he ran toward the group. The shooter then fled in a car. The boy was in serious condition. Last week the girl had performed as a majorette with the school’s band and drill-team at the inauguration of President Obama.

Parsippany, N.J. — On Monday, a 46-year-old retired police officer fatally shot his 43-year-old wife before killing himself with a self-inflicted gunshot.

Las Vegas, Nev. — Police responding to reports of gunshots at a home about 4:20 p.m. yesterday found two women and a man dead and another man wounded. The wounded man is in critical condition. Police believe a domestic dispute led to the shooting.

Waldorf, Md. — Police called to a house about 8:20 p.m. yesterday found a woman dead who had apparently turned a gun on herself after shooting and critically wounded her husband. Both are believed to be in their 60s. The man is in critical condition.

Chicago, Ill. — A 20-year-old man was found fatally shot about 8 a.m. yesterday. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his head.

New Orleans, La. — A 23-year-old man was shot and killed and a 23-year-old man wounded when they were standing outside a house and someone opened fire. The wounded man was in critical condition.

Harris County, Tex. — A man thought to be in his mid-40s was found fatally shot about 9 p.m. yesterday. Police responded when someone reported neighbors fighting.

Newark, N.J. — A man was found fatally shot on a sidewalk near a shuttered public-housing complex before dawn this morning.

Milwaukee, Wis. — Police say a 63-year-old man was shot to death in a home around 7 p.m. yesterday. No suspects are in custody.

Cleveland, Ohio — A 19-year-old male found shot about 4:20 yesterday later died at a hospital. The victim was driving a car with four passengers and had stopped at a stop sign when another vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside opened fire. Only the victim was hit.

Cleveland, Ohio — A man found fatally shot about 12:25 p.m. Monday had multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen. The shooter fled in a car.

Chester County, S.C. — A 59-year-old woman was fatally shot at a home. Two people are in custody for questioning related to the shooting.

Malden, Mass. — A 39-year-old man was shot and killed near a store about 1 p.m. yesterday. Neighbors heard about seven gunshots.

Kansas City, Mo. — Two people were found fatally shot on a street about 12:30 p.m. today. Police are looking for a man with a handgun seen running from the scene.

Madison County, Ind. — A 22-year-old man was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds about 3 a.m. yesterday morning. A 45-year-old man was arrested.

Phoenix, Ariz. — A man thought to be in his 60s walked into an office building about 10:45 a.m. today and shot three people before fleeing. One victim was reported in extremely critical condition, the other victims have injuries considered non-life threatening.

Altamonte Springs, Fla. — A man was shot and wounded near an apartment complex late Tuesday. Police are looking for two gunman they think knew the victim.

Sanford, Fla. — A man was grazed in the head by a bullet at an apartment complex about 6:30 p.m. yesterday.

Anchorage, Alaska — A man was shot several times inside an apartment around 5 p.m. yesterday. The gunman fled in a vehicle. The victim reportedly has life-threatening injuries.

St. Louis, Mo. — A man was shot shortly after 9 p.m. yesterday. He condition is unknown.

St. Louis, Mo. — A 19-year-old man was shot near a bus transfer station around 7:15 p.m. yesterday. No word on his condition.

Jacksonville, Fla. — Two men in their late-teens or early 20s were shot while in a parking lot outside a store about 2:30 p.m. yesterday. As many as four suspects ran from the scene after the incident. The victims are expected to survive.

Pittsburgh, Penn. — About 8 p.m. yesterday, a 47-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were robbed at gunpoint and then each shot several times. Both were reported in stable condition. The suspect used a semiautomatic pistol.

Milwaukee, Wis. — A 32-year-old man was shot and wounded on a street about 7 p.m. No word on his condition.

Fredericksburg, Va. — Two men, ages 29 and 26, we each shot in the leg after a fight broke out at a club and shots were fired as patrons exited the building about 1:50 a.m. yesterday.

Plymouth, Mass. — A police officer’s .357 revolver is missing after he inadvertently left it in a courthouse bathroom. The officer was at lunch when he realized his gun was missing, but it was gone by the time he returned to the bathroom. Police swept the courthouse and surrounding grounds but it was not found.
